PCB manufacturing
Selectively etching away the copper layer from the PCB blank is not easy with nanosecond lasers. There is a lot of heat and carbonization going on so the result will be very bad and barely useable. With ultrafast lasers the processing is cold - close to no thermal effects.
A typical laser prototyping machine from LPFK cost more than EUR 100 000 and ultrashort pulse lasers are the largest item in the bill-of-materials. These machines will get also cheaper in the future thanks to PulseBrick.
