True black marking
Black markings produced by femtosecond and picosecond lasers are not just sharp but also very durable. While stainless steel marked with a nanosecond laser will oxidize and degrade over time in a high temperature, high humidity environment, ultrafast laser marks are autoclavable which is a big advantage in medical applications. While most devices do not require this kind of durability, the quality of such marks speak for themselves. Just look at the Apple logo on your phone.
Furthermore, intense colour and iridescent marks are also possible without any additives or chemical modification of the surface.
